First Lego League
Designed to help children have fun learning science and life skills. Our mentors are professionals in STEM fields and serve as positive role models for the children to emulate. The team members’ path to the progress is maximized by the Illinois Math Academy novel approach to learning and development.
Lego Robotics Club
16 week program geared towards 9 to 14 year old children
Opportunities:
- Design, build, test and program robots using NXT and EV3 LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology.
- Apply real-world math and science concepts – to the Robot game and the project.
- Research challenges facing today’s scientists for the project.
- Learn critical thinking, team-building and presentation skills.
- Develop social skills to work as a team during team activities.
- Participate in tournaments and celebrations and present their work to the parents.
Junior Lego Robotics
16 week program geared towards 6 to 9 year old children.
Opportunities:
- Participate in interactive exercises engaging kids’ hands as well as their minds with Power function M motor.
- Experiment with LEGO® Education’s award-winning WeDo software.
- Participate in creative and challenging activities that encourage a love of science, technology, and engineering at an early age.
- Be engaged and enjoy building their soft skills with peers and coaches.
- Present their creations and the skills they’ve learned to their parents.
- Participate in JRFLL tournament and related local events.
