Math is fun! Math is easy!
Mental Math
The program uses an ancient tool called an abacus to teach kids ages 5 to 13 how to do math visually. The reason they use a visual approach is that a child’s brain can visualize faster than it can just recall from memory. Seeing the beads of an abacus and doing the addition, subtraction, multiplication and division allows a child to see and understand math easily.
This program is designed in a way to challenge kids through fun competition and fast testing of their brain muscle. Children that have been thru a level with this program learn to visualize the abacus and do the math in their heads very fast. After a few months they are doing addition and subtraction of ten single digit numbers read to them faster than another child can write them down or enter them into a calculator.
This program harnesses the power and speed of the right brain which is eight times faster than the more logic-based left brain. This results in strengthening right brain capabilities in the children such as: photographic memory, ability to do complex mental calculations, conversion of images to words, numbers, symbols and the reverse and the ability to process information on an intuitive level.
The Abacus is an ancient mathematical instrument used for calculation. The Abacus was one ofthe world’s first real calculating tools. The word Abacus is derived from the Greek word “Abex”, meaning counting board. The original types of Abacus were dustcovered stone slates with a stylus used for marking numbers. Later this evolved into a slate with grooves where rocks or other counters would be placed to mark numbers. This magical tool has been termed as the “mother ofmodern computers”, and is universally used for solving arithmetic functions like additions, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Enhances photographic memory
- Enables quick and accurate calculations to be computed mentally
- Develops concentration, listening and comprehension skills
- Promotes creativity
- Builds self confidence
- Aids in mastery of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
“I like Mental Math. How mental math helps me is, whenever I solve a math problem I check the answer by doing the abacus technique. Because of using this technique, most of the time I’m getting A+ in math at school. I really enjoy doing abacus.”

“This program has made me gain more confidence in myself and give me knowledge about mathematical, competitive, and social skills. I have learned math skills that help me do large calculations mentally, and with speed and accuracy. I find it fun to do what others can’t or won’t. It has made my math grade go up. I have also done competitive math competitions and demonstrated my mental math abilities. These skills I know are necessary in the real world when I grow up. This course has allowed to develop my social skills by gaining friends and meeting new people who enjoy my interests. This has been a good way to enjoy topics that spark interest for me, and I have had so much fun…”
